The
Windjammer Inn was Captain Sam Shepard's pre-confederation home
(1854) in Port Stanley, Ontario. (A wonderful old fireplace and
newel post were brought from one of Captain Sam's two Windjammers
when he rebuilt the home after a fire.)
We
renovated recently and the
rooms are simple and airy. The victorian charm is apparent in many
of our features. We strive for a casual and elegant atmosphere.
Start your day with a selection of sumptious house baked goodies, served with our own preserves and fresh butter; a selection of fresh fruit and our gourmet breakfast entrée – or enjoy breakfast in bed, delivered to your door. The on site Bistro also features homemade fare -- as only a devoted
lover of food can make it.
The inn, located in Port Stanley is an ideal base for walking
the Elgin
Trail, cycling, and bird
watching. Thousands of birds congregate here during their
Spring and Fall migrations--5000 hawks circle over a nearby
cliff. We are close to three wineries;Quai
Du Vin Estate Winery , Rush
Creek Wines and Meadowlane
